If it's accusative (direct object), you use "einen", e.g. Ich sehe einen Mann.
The nominative case (subject) of a male word has "ein". e.g. Ein Mann steht vor der Tür"

  1. Ask the following questions (according to the case)

    who? = ein (Nominativ)
    whose? = eines (Genitv)
    to whom? = einem (Dativ)
    whom? = einen (Akkusativ)
